PAA is usually used together with other water treatment agents as scale inhibitor and dispersant in circulating cool water systems in power plants, chemical plant, fertilizer plant, oil refineries and air conditioning systems etc. Dosage should be determined by experiment in accordance with water quality and equipment materials. When used alone, 2-15mg/L is preferred.

No acute toxicity but irritating to the skin and eyes., Avoid contact with eye and skin. In case of contact, flush with water immediately.
